A certified online workshop on “Why Digital Marketing Fails?” was held by the World Trade Center with the objective of educating businesses about some of the best practices in digital marketing. Mr. Subhobroto Chakraborty, Founder, thedigitalfellow.com was the speaker. He explained the basics of Search engine optimization, email marketing, social media marketing, mobile marketing, online video marketing, web analytics, marketing communications and regulatory guidelines.
Mr. Chakraborty stressed that digital marketing is not a cheaper alternative to conventional marketing and that it should be considered as an investment. He opined that digital marketing is more of a science than art and thoughtful measures needs to be taken before having a campaign in place. This was an eye opener session to many participants as it could bust many myths related to the subject. Mr. Subhobroto shared his observation that numerous companies’ IT head had been doubling as the digital marketing head as well. He urged the participants to conduct persona research for their clientele. He also shared a few digital audits he had prepared for various industries that revealed some of the flaws in their marketing methods. This was followed by a very interactive Q&A session where the participants were able to clear their queries.
